"The Spiritual Mountain"

Manaslu- 21 days

An exciting route through a quiet valley in the shadow of the Manaslu.

One of the most authentic tours left in the Himalayas.

We will go up to the Manaslu Base Camp 4,800m and after acclimatizing at that height we will be prepared to cross the Larkya La pass 5,160m. During the tour in addition to the Manaslu 8,153m, we will also see the Ganesh Himal, Himlung, Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, Himal Chuli and more … all of them peaks over 7,000 meters. We will cross farms and cultivated fields closely observing local ethnic groups and as we go up the Buddhist heritage of Tibet in Nepal becomes more present.

Manaslu means "spiritual mountain" so it is said that this place transmits peace and is healing for mind and soul.

And as a farewell to the trip, we will go down to Pokhara, the second city of Nepal, where we can canoe on its wonderful Pewa lake and visit the International Mountain Museum.

Of course, we will visit Kathmandu and its monuments declared as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

There is almost no risk of suffering from altitude sickness, since the ascent will be very progressive and with enough time to acclimatize. The days of trekking usually include about 5 hours of walking and generally about 10 to 15 km / day, although there are harder days than others.

The route around the Manaslu (8,163m) is highly recommended for many reasons. First of all, and for me possibly the most important is that in high season it does not suffer the same crowding as the Annapurna or Everest circuit, making it a great option for those who prefer quiet trails and simple towns.

This area borders Tibet, and offers us the chance to get up close to the genuine Tibetan culture of the inhabitants of the area, who have managed to preserve their ancestral customs. This is because the government of Nepal has declared some villages in the Manaslu circuit as restricted trekking areas (from Jagat to Dharapani), this increases the price of permits and trekking conditions are more controlled, avoiding overcrowding and preserving the authenticity of the area.

The highest pass is at 5,106m crossing the Larkya La Pass, from where we will see huge peaks, which together with the impressive and wonderful landscape around Manaslu make this a dream route.

After crossing the Larkya La Pass, we descend towards the forested valley of the Marsyangdi river, where the route meets the Annapurna Circuit, giving the possibility of extending the trek for one more week.

During the third day of the trek we pass through Lokpa (2,240m) from where we can connect with the Tsum Valley trek that runs at the foot of the Ganesh Himal,  and again with the possibility of extending the route for another week.

You don’t need to carry food, or a tent or mats since every 2 hours you will cross towns where we will stop to rest, eat or just have a tea. This will allow you to enjoy the journey and incidentally help the local economy.

We will finish the trek in Pokhara, the second city in Nepal, where we can canoe on its wonderful Pewa lake and visit the Mountain Museum and the Peace Pagoda.

It is a beautiful, spectacular and unforgettable trek, and perhaps one of the most authentic routes left in the Himalayas.

An exciting and spiritual experience around one of the most beautiful mountains in the Himalayas.

Do not miss it!
